Interactive dark fairytale for the project Spectre: A Tale of Whisps & Whimsy, featuring original illustrations, fiction, animations, and app design.
Concept
Spectre: A Ghostly Tale of Whisps & Whimsy addresses dual forms of communication: the genre of fairy tale, and the hypermedia,
interactive digital space of the iPad. This work explores the way we read and participate in a story. The opportunity to wander, ruminate, and explore is built in to the user interface. A reader can access multiple back-stories via colored codified objects, while more subtle discoveries take extra effort to expose. A user may choose to participate in this or not and in this regard, the narrative is semi-open.
